No Candy Easter Basket Stuffers!

With Easter just 5 weeks away I thought now would be the perfect time to share some of the stuff we are filling baskets with this year.

Call me cheap, but I take this time to buy essentials for the upcoming season! Also, we are avoiding excess so it won't be a list of stickers or toys that no one will be playing with in 2 months. No stuffed animals to collect dust or sit on a shelf.
Sharing a list of some of our past and current stuffers. Something for babies, bigger kids and teens!
My top 50 non budget busting items that won't be in the donate pile or garbage in 6 months.

Less than 2 weeks until Easter!

We are getting together with the family.. BIG family! It is always fun (I LOVE the family I married into!) It's never boring and there are lots of kids! I am no cooking pro.. but I like to do stuff for the kids. I am going to make some cupcakes for the get together. I am thinking some lemon and maybe some coconut ones! I think I will use Country Living's take on some little nest's for the lemon ones and make the coconut ones nests also.. I'll just toast some of the coconut for on top!

Now one of my FAVORITE ever Goodwill finds was a Jell-o Bean Mold.. I found it 6 or 7 years ago.. I still see them all the time and I still think they are just adorable! I only have 1 mold that has survived the years so it takes a while to make what I like in different flavors, but worth the time! I do Orange and Raspberry (because they are my favorite) but you can do whatever flavors you want! The mold makes them just like big jelly beans.. they are too cute!! I put them in cool whip with some mini marshmallows.. they are fine by themselves, it is Jell-o after all!

Still not a fan of loading the kids up with candy.. so we put some other stuff in their baskets. This year it's those big balls with the handles and some other outdoor toys. Target has a pretty big selection and a section of them are under $5! Just about everything is for outside! To fill the little plastic eggs I am using Keebler "bug bites" grahams.. little graham crackers that are ladybug, dragonfly and a couple other bug shaped.. they are small enough to fit a few in each egg. Our kids are good about not putting stuff in their mouth so they will each get some with coins in them. I will be checking out the grocery store isle's for some non-candy small goodies! If I find anymore good stuff I'll share!

Easter pretties

I wish it was sunny here.. all these pastel things don't look nearly as cute in overcast!
I got the cute SPRING blocks at a little place in Redmond when they were closing I got a total deal on them, $6 for all of em! Been storing them since Halloween though. I hadn't put the curtains up yet when I took pictures.. oops!

The mantel has a really light pink boa on it and only a couple little things on it, I don't have much Easter or spring stuff yet. The Leaf looking place mats I have had forever and am finally getting some use out of them!

I never use these floating candle holders for candles anymore.. Just some jelly beans and a little feather pick.
The basket really doesn't have anything to do with Easter other than I used one of the leaf place mats in the bottom, the basket is just full of old pics ( I didn't want to use our real family ones yet, due to little grubby hands ) I got 150+ pics on ebay and they are all 1910-1950 I LOVE the clothes they are all wearing.. Something fun to look at once in a while. Now that I look at this picture I really don't like how close in color our walls are to our furniture.. hmmm.. maybe I can figure out a new paint color.
I am still working on Spring Cleaning. Been trying to do 1 room every other day and not on the weekends. Hope every ones first week of Spring has been sunnier than it has been here!
