Speedy Fall Cleaning Family Room

I didn't Fall Clean last year, we had just moved in and nothing really needed deep cleaning. It needed organizing and everything else that comes with moving in.

But this year, oh goodness does it ever need it!
I am starting fresh in this smaller house, should take less time!
I put an experimental recipe, or lack of, in the Instant Pot and some good music and it should only take an afternoon!

I have always started in the kitchen, switching it up this year and working on the Family Room.
Anything that gets done with my weekly cleaning won't be on this deep cleaning list.
~Wipe down walls
~Window Tracks, before it turns to mud!
~Vacuum, Wipe and Touch Up Baseboards
~Wipe Down Doors and Touch Up Paint
~Heather Vents.. clean them out and wipe down
~Swap Pictures in frames if I have them
~Wash Curtains
~Fireplace.. put the grate in and take the candles out
~Vacuum behind all of the electronics
~Spot Clean Upholstery and Vacuum out couch
~Quick Clutter Sweep
Then the rewards for getting that all done!
Put throw blankets and extra pillows out
New Candles or Scentsy

Then it's all ready for Halloween Decorations!

Built ins DONE!

I thought I posted about these a while back but I couldn't find it, must have just been Facebook!
My father in law is amazing. I am horrible about trying to explain what I was
looking for and he made them perfect!

There was NOTHING there before, just the window.
These are really tall, and obviously I am having a hard time filling them!
I've slowly been adding stuff to the shelves and to the room.
Picked up these curtains at Goodwill last week, they are Target Salvage still in the package an marked down  from Goodwill prices because whoever tagged them got marker on them. So I got a great deal on them and you can't see the marks unless you are really looking for them!

The black table isn't staying in there, I don't think.
I finally made those pillows last week, just need to paint a "5" on one then I think I will be done!

I've got BIG plans for this wall!
Just waiting for my supplies to come in the mail!

This little red table is empty. I don't want to put stuff in it just to fill it. It's waiting for the perfect things.
And I think our back to school ruler will live in here instead of the garage. The colors work well, especially once the new rug comes!
This is the one I ordered, hoping it's truly these colors!

And this is my favorite shelf!
I love the vintage camera and the old style books and our basket of random people ;)

Once I do my project and get the rug down I will share some more!

Organizing Friday!

I am not really organizing anything today but I am making plans on how to fill our new Built Ins!! They aren't quite done yet but they will sure give us a TON of storage!

There are shelves for the under cabinets and it will have doors, so I think we can move the board games and stuff to one of these, the kids will like that they can reach them a little better that way!
And I will probably keep our blankets and extra throw pillows in there too!
The other side of the room just has 2 club chairs, but I think I am going to try to get hubby to build a mantle, not a fireplace, just a mantle since the other mantle has a different TV on it and it is lower and I can't really put much on the mantle or it blocks the TV,

Spring Cleaning { Family Room} and Some Sweet Little Treats

I finished the kitchen already (we had a snow day and a mellow week) I am hoping to get started on the Family Room (and play area). I will be hunting for some supplies this weekend! The play area is just not working, the older the littlest gets the more stuff there is!
This is how we started, it was alright but the shoes are too much and all over! And the kids need somewhere for papers that little brother can't get to as easily (he likes to throw them away)!
I've got a couple projects I am working on for that little area!
Looking for some art options and shoe storage!!

There are lots of other things I need to do too for Spring Cleaning!
My Family Room list is just a little shorter than the kitchen!

~Wash Curtains, throws and swap pillows
~Clean off the ceiling fan
~Clean Glass on Frames
~Swap Pictures in Frames
~Clean Windows and tracks
~Turn off pilot on fireplace (might wait on this since it snowed this morning!)
~Clean Fireplace
~Dust the Electronics (especially the back)
~Clean out the couch cushions (can hardly wait to see what's in there!)
~Clean the couch cushion covers
~Clean Walls
~Vacuum Floor Vents
~Clean Baseboards
~Touch Up Wall Paint
~Clean Rug

Play Area

~Go through toys
~Go through books
~Sort toys

I love this, but I have a Target budget :)

So that is what I have going on next week!
And I want to make these from Feels Like Home!!
I think I might change the recipe a little though and skip the coconut and use a different nut!

How cute are those?!

Anyone else starting their Spring Cleaning?!

New Small Book Shelves

Finally!  We have been looking for something to go on either side of the fireplace, and I am PICKY, it would have been much easier had I been even a little less picky! But now they are built and fill the space just enough. I can even use the top shelf for a little while longer, until Finnley can reach those, the other 2 are already within his grasp.  The mirrors were up before the shelves so I know they are off.. but I am short and Ryan has been busy!  It's already dark here so the pictures aren't great.. but this side has a mini lamp (stole it from our bedroom), a jar full of mini skulls and the middle shelf has a jar of eyeballs that move and light up and a silver clock with a little mouse!  And the ottoman is only there cause I didn't move it!

We found these ON SALE this week at Target less than $100 bucks (I had a coupon too) for both of them!  I'm excited I have some more new areas to put Halloween stuff!
Hopefully I will remember tomorrow when it isn't dark to take some pictures and show off some more Halloweeny stuff!
