Finally found time to make some test run 4th of July treats!
I got this star pan from Wilton probably 7 years ago, and I JUST took the packaging off.
I used it tonight, I made some cherry chip cake mix ( I know, I know! Usually I am all about from scratch) and made some little cupcakes with whip cream and strawberries.

I'm going to make some star shaped shortcakes.  Keeping it simple 'cause we have a big ol' to do list. Lots to share soon!
And if you haven't already, sign up for Blog Lovin and follow me there, Google Reader ends in just a few days, I'd hate for y'all to miss anything!!

4th of July Goodies

Between Pinterest, online magazines and all these wonderful blogs I am pretty sure I could share a hundred different CUTE ideas for treats for 4th of July!
I want to have some treats ready since it feels like it takes SO LONG for it to get dark enough for sparklers!

This one is really pretty and looks really complicated!

These little cheesecakes are simple and cute!

I used the BIG star marshmallows to make some S'mores Pops, and added the sprinkles to the cracker mix so they stick a little better. They don't look much like stars though.. they look like chubby stars!

These are SO cute, and you could do these for any event.. but the flags are SO sweet!

These are still a fave of mine, I have a fondness for pies :)

Cake balls have never looked more patriotic!

This would be an easy make ahead goody! (I need help with that since we will have NO kitchen for the 4th )

And of course there are more ideas on my Pinboard HERE :)

Are you planning any 4th of July treats? Share them please!

4th of July fluff

Crafts I should have done, but it's been crazy 'round here so I haven't done much crafting!
these are SO cute! Would be cute, mixing round and square ones.

Seriously, these all would have been SO easy!

And food, I haven't done any planning for special treats yet. Check all these yummies out!

I really should get on it already!
All these and a few more ideas with links to the sources are found here!

4th of July Decorations!

So, I have been a slacker and haven't taken pictures of this years decorations. I didn't add too much this year though so I will share my favorites again!
See previous years HERE and HERE.

I try not to do ONLY the obvious, stars, stripes and flags. I try to do some more subtle things also, like baseball and apple pie!

I did get a few of these cute little balls the other day

And the more I look at last years pictures, the more I am sure I must have missed a bin, cause a lot of those things are MISSING, hmm. Well I probably won't dig them out this year, but adding to my to-do list!
Happy Monday!

4th of July Decorations and treat!

The things I added this year to go with last years could easily be used for a picnic or bbq, whatever kind of get together you are having. I just leave mine out for a few weeks ahead of time! I wanted to do something different than the usual stars and stripes and flags and fireworks (not that I don't have plenty of those!) So my decorations this year are a little different. Last year I didn't have much but over the last year I have thought of some new ideas and found some great little things!

I have to be honest, I got inspiration from Twilight for my newest 4th of July decoration! Baseball is "Americas favorite past time" so I collected baseballs over the last year to fill this big vase. I think it's simple and perfect! Once I had that done I started thinking of other "All American" stuff.. Apple Pie made the list. I am not about to bake every few days in July just to have that yummy smell and of course the good looks of a pie.. I cheated..Found this amazing smellin' and absolutely adorable Apple Pie Candle, it's a mini, 5", but fits soo cute on the little cake stand. The white utensil holder has red and white gingham and polka dot silverware in it.

I know I have mentioned "Real Deals" before on here.. another great find, I went in there looking for a "Pledge of Allegience" sign and found this one instead! Still looking for the other, but maybe for back to school decorations! And the cute little bell tree is from TJ Maxx.

We already have our plans made for the holiday weekend.. I am excited to spend time with our family and to see the parade with the kids and swimming and fun 4th of July goodies!

I am planning on making a BIG batch of these... the kids love them and they are pretty darn easy!

*Mini S'mores Pops*
I used toothpicks (but won't next time.. too sharp for the kids)
mini marshmallows (Hoping I can use the star shaped ones for this holiday!)
chocolate chips or candy melts ( the red white and blue candy melts would be SO cute!)
and graham cracker crumbs

~First I line a cookie sheet with wax paper and put it in the fridge while I do the rest of the prep
~Get your graham crackers ready (if you crush them yourself) and put in a wide bowl
~Load your sticks with marshmallows (I did 2 mini's per stick)
~melt the chocolate in a wide bowl (enough so you can roll the marshmallows around)
~Get your cookie sheet out..

Then roll the marshmallows in the choc to cover then roll or sprinkle the graham crackers on ( prefer to roll, I think it sticks better)
place on cookie sheet then back into fridge to set! You can do sprinkles in red white and blue if S'mores aren't your thing!

Less than 2 weeks until the 4th.. Hoping it will be warm and NO rain.. it sure hasn't felt like summer here yet!

We never found the old camera.. sad.. But I am loving the new one so far!
I took a few pictures of the 4th of July stuff I have out.. nothing major.. and you can tell that some little hands were helping me.. the O is just a little crooked!

Even with the new camera, Ramsey is hard to catch.. such a busy boy!

We went to the park today to try and take some pictures for Father's day pictures for Ryan and His Dad.. the kids call Grandpa "Pop Pop" It didn't go as well as I hoped but got enough done to make it work! Here are a couple of the pictures!

I am 25 weeks pregnant this week and really feeling this little guy move.. Other than that I don't feel much different.. not complaining at all! I have been trying not to go "baby stuff" crazy.. doing a really good job of buying mostly necessities so far! But this little monkey outfit was too cute!
I got it in a Preemie size, he will only be a month on Halloween and I am hoping it will fit just right! It's from Crazy8.com and is on clearance for a really great price right now!

Haven't been doing much else this week.. relaxing as much as I can! Enjoying that the weather has not been too hot!

Planning for the 4th some more!

Wow time is flying! 4th of July weekend is less than 3 short weeks away! We usually go out of town for the long weekend and spend time with family. It's one of my favorite holidays! Been planning what the kids will be wearing for a few months already. Think I got it all figured out, for the most part anyway. I will have to pack 2 dresses for Carsyn.. Can't decide between the 2! I hope they participate in some pictures! If I find or buy another camera by that time... We haven't found our camera since being back from our weekend trip last weekend.. Yikes!
If I would have waited a little longer to decide I would have changed my mind completely.. I really love these plaid shorts from Janie and Jack.

And I recently fell in LOVE with Tanya Whelan's Darla fabric collection.. There is an amazing set on ETSY.com right now that I am SOO wanting, Here is the link! http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=25779373&ref=sr_gallery_7&=&ga_search_query=whelan+dress&ga_search_type=all&ga_page=&order=date_desc&includes%25255B%25255D=title&show_panel=true

Since I only grocery shop every 2 weeks (other than milk and produce) I need to plan NOW what I am making for some treats to take and dinner at least 1 night.

Pretty sure I will make a BBQ chicken pizza for a dinner.. if everyone is willing to trust my cooking!I haven't decided between rainbow cupcakes with just red white and blue.. similar to this from Hostess with the Mostess. found here. http://www.hostessblog.com/2009/02/fabulous-rainbow-cake-tutorial/

Or decorated sugar cookies. I don't think there would be any of either left, cookies are easier to take, but cupcakes are more fun! If the next 2 weeks are not completely crazy I will probably make and freeze some blueberry and strawberry muffins to take, made in Wilton pan of course!

I have all my decorations out! and No camera.. very sad! If it comes down to it, I will take some with my phone.. Pictures will be even worse than usual, but at least I can post em!
