Organizing Friday... Pantry upate!

I finished one project and had enough time to finish up another, 2 in 1 day, must have been a good day!
I usually just write in my Home Managment Binder when we run out of something, but I wanted a little faster way without making a bunch of scraps of paper and it couldn't take up any room, or very very little maybe.

Decided to do this
Before

After

Chalkboard paint, super easy to use, fairly inexpensive. I think the can said it covers 100 sq ft, and it was under 10 dollars!  It was easy, but stinky!  Using it to also keep track of the biggins points for bed time and nap time (our hardest parts of the day!).  They like that they can see the points and it's not on paper so no one is going to accidently draw on it!  I painted the bottom section also, thinking that atleast 1 of the 3 kids will be happy to be in the kitchen drawing once in a while.
Since it was so easy I have already started to think of what else I can cover in the chalkboard paint!

Organizing Friday.. Barbie Mess

Those tubs weren't working.. but so far these have been SO much better! She is allowed 2 out at a time and has to put them away before getting more out. It's worked a little over half the time so far.. I'll take ANY improvement I can get though! These were not too expensive, about a dollar each but they aren't anything special! When things slow down enough and I am looking for a project, I am sure I can pretty em up a little bit. But for now it's not so bad since I have been hiding them behind these curtains!  I made them from some leftover fabric and they weren't long enough or something.. they just didn't look right!  They had been in a closet for a couple years now.. glad to put them to use! They are just hung on some mini tension rods, no more banging up the bookshelf!

AND obviously from these pictures.. I NEED to do something about those bows... especially since the 2 flower boxes on the top shelf are also FULL of bows/clips/headbands, and sadly I have made her about 10 more in the last 2 days.  I have a project idea lines up, just waiting to get the supplies, maybe next Friday!

Organzing on Friday!

Like I said in my Cleaning Schedule post, I usually keep Friday open for projects and organizing!  Thought I could share my projects (if I have one)!  I started last Friday and will probably need this Friday too.  I am working on our little girls room.  She has SO many little toys!  And a little brother and little toys just dont mix.  I would prefer to keep the toys away from him AND stored so her room doesn't look like a toy store.  We have tried these big buckets for the last few months... and so far all they have done is scratch up the book shelf!  They didn't encourage her to pick up afterwards like I had hoped, I know... wishful thinking!  So I am working on some toy storage options for her room right now, mixing pretty AND efficient is not easy for me and it has to be inexpensive!  Too bad I didn't think about this until after I started and didn't take any before pictures.. oops..So imagine a VERY VERY messy 3 year olds room, more barbie shoes and Ponyville Pony's than any 3 year old can play with at one time, making vacuuming nearly impossible. That about sums up her room.. With this Bookshelf to hold her stuff

These are the buckets we were using..

And I thought I would cover them with some cute scrapbook paper and mod podge.. but soon after we used them (and DS tore the tag off)  I knew it wasn't going to work.. she put ALL the stuff in 1 and it was too heavy for her to move, and the whole scratching the bookshelf didn't make me a fan either!  So she has been using them out of her bookshelf until I decided what to do.  I think I may have an idea that will be easy for her to use and not damage her furniture and I hope won't be an eyesore or expensive. Come Back Next Friday and I *should* be done!
Oh yeah.. Check out the drawer on the bookshelf.. we had to get a replacement and they didn't want that peice back, I'm repurposing it in her room too!
