Memorial Day Weekend!

Hope everyone has a great long weekend and Memorial Day! We will be gone for the weekend and even though this is the unofficial start of Summer, it doesn't feel like Summer at all here yet. But I know lots of you already have lots of sunshine.. thought I would share some cute idea's for Red White and Blue BBQ's and Get Togethers!

These Bowls just say picnic to me! Target.com did carry them, but now I think only amazon.com has them!

This cocktail looks adorable, the stars are just fondant, cut out with a cookie cutter and it will stick to the glass!
I would be ALLOVER these if I wasn't avoiding sugar right now!

the mini star sprinkles are from CKproducts and SO cute! I was able to find them locally!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE these cute little "burgers", made of cupcakes!!

Check out this cake from ediblecrafts! It looks like a flag!!

Woodland ish 1st Birthday! In the works

I am helping a girlfriend with her sweet baby's 1st Birthday party! This birthday party is NOT in the fall, and Squirrels have a special meaning! So she is doing things a little different. Emphasis on girly colors, not fall. And more squirrels than other stuff.  Thought I would share some of the stuff we are working on!

One of the treats are these cuties, But pink stems!

Pink Lemonade and Chocolate milk for drinks, not together though.. ewww!
Frosted cookies, Squirrels, acorns and maybe some toadstools in pink, aqua and browns!

Pretty sure there will be a banner  and some other goodies featuring this cute squirrel, not in white or red of course!

She found some adorable scrapbook paper that has round tree's on it, in perfect colors! Browns, lime greeen, pink and aqua! Going to make some waterbottle wrappers out of the paper!

I am making some cupcake pics with Acorns, squirrels and her daughter's initial in the same colors as the cute paper above!

She wants to have a way to display some cute pictures of her seriously adorable and photogenic daughter that matches the theme.  I thought she could easily use some free branches (from some cut tree's in our yard), Spray paint them pink or one of the green's in the paper and make a little "tree" to hang some cut out pictures like ornaments!  And I am racking my brain to figure out a way to incorporate the cute idea into our little guy's 1st birthday!

If this was not for a 1 year old you could make a pinata in a acorn shape!  I think it would be easy enough since most balloons are about the right shape anyway!  Another activity if you have a longer party planned is making squirrel "feeders" out of large pinecones, peanut butter and squirrel food (corn kernels, peanuts)

One idea for favors is the cute cellophane baggies filled with "squirrel food" some yummy
granola with color coordinating candies mixed in, MnM's or sundrops!

There are also a number of cute squirrel and acorn candy molds! I already have THIS mold from Bake it Pretty These are the ones used as an example on the blog.. SO cute, just like everything else over there!

The party is still 2 months away, leaving us plenty of time to work everything out!
Anyone willing to share any ideas, we would LOVE them!

Summer time diapers that look like Jeans?!

Well Summer is almost here!  Found these online..  had to have them for a couple reasons..
1. I am probably going to do less cloth diapering in the summer because I don't want to run the washer/dryer more than I HAVE to. Gets too darn hot!

2. I haven't bought the baby much as far as shorts go, now I am not going to.  Cute Diaper and a shirt are fine with me! And again with the laundry.

These are sold out on some sites already!  Our Targets are just getting them, not even unloading until tomorrow, but I was able to get them to pull a box out for me :)

Since they are huggies, and we have had good luck with them, I am hoping the quality will be the same.
And use those coupons if you have em!

I havent made one in 6 months and am SERIOUSLY craving some.. I use The Pioneer Woman's recipe.. could not be any more basic or simple!

Since I am procrastinating big time..

Thought I would do a little post. I AM working on getting things ready for next week I promise! I am sure you have all seen the cute little canning jars with cupcakes in em.. Yup.. I made some today, but I didn't make the cupcakaes before and then put them in the jars, I put the batter right in the canning jars, I used the small jelly jars (that I got for .29 at goodwill!!) used a little less than a 1/4 cup of batter for each one and lined them up in a glass casserole dish. I had to bake them an extra minute or 2 is all. As soon as I took them out, I poked some holes in each one with a straw and put the frosting on, just enough to get the lid on without overflow, and screwed the lid on. I made Chocolate cupcakes and the frosting is peanut butter.. I am HOPING the frosting will melt a little and go in the holes.. that's my plan anyway. Planning on taking them with us to the hospital (I KNOW I will need a chocolate fix). Hoping they stay nice and fresh and yummy since they ARE airtight.

I originally thought the idea would be good/cute for favors ( with a MINI Ikea kids fork tied on with a ribbon. Or as a teachers gift, especially since it doesn't matter what the top looks like, you can cover the lid with fabric and the ring will go right over thin fabric!

I will miss all the blog reading I usually do when I should be cleaning. Hope I don't miss anything I NEED to know.. and who knows, maybe I will procrastinate a little more and do another post in the next week!
